Anthropic details how Claude Duet keeps credentials away from the model and when it must ask first
Two days after announcing its proactive agent, Anthropic published the safety, privacy and security design behind Claude Duet: approval gates, a sensitive-data classifier, one-time payment cards and a browser the model can only drive by fixed commands.
It answers the main open question from Duet's October 21 launch: how an always-on agent with access to your accounts is kept from leaking data or acting without permission.

OpenAI takes frontier training offline as Anthropic details why Mythos 5 wouldn't stop
On the same day, OpenAI cut its frontier training off from the live web and Anthropic published data on how Claude Mythos 5 kept pressing an attack on a real GitHub project.
Both leading labs now say their most capable models cannot be trusted with unsupervised live internet access during training or evaluation.

OpenAI makes its Decisions API generally available: typed answers from gpt-6-luna, with no output-token charge
The classification-and-routing endpoint leaves beta with up to 400 questions per request, JSON input, per-question images and prompt-cache discounts. The 10x speed figure is OpenAI's own.
Classification, routing and guardrail checks are a large share of LLM calls in production apps and agent loops; a dedicated, no-output-charge endpoint changes the cost math for them.

Google Cloud unveils A5X on NVIDIA Vera Rubin, with general availability set for November
Google's first Vera Rubin NVL72 instances have one early customer and a fabric Google says can span up to 960,000 Rubin GPUs across sites. Pricing, specs and regions are still unpublished.
It is the most concrete date so far for Vera Rubin capacity in a hyperscaler's public catalogue, which matters to anyone planning 2027 training or reinforcement-learning budgets.

Recursive releases Flint, an open-weight coding model built to run agents on a 48 GB laptop
Recursive's first model has 39.8 billion parameters with about 2.5 billion active, ships under Apache 2.0, and comes with quantized builds for Apple Silicon and NVIDIA. Its benchmark and speed figures are the company's own.
A capable local coding model lets teams run agents on code that cannot leave the machine and avoid per-token API costs in long agent loops.

Microsoft sets Ignite GA for Foundry Local and GitHub Enterprise Local in its sovereign cloud push
New EU oversight of Microsoft engineer access is rolling out now; the on-premises AI pieces are scheduled for Ignite, and key details such as the model catalog are still unpublished.
Regulated organizations that could not send sensitive data to cloud AI get a clearer path to running models, Copilot and retrieval inside environments they control, including disconnected ones.

Tools and launches you may have missed
OpenAI adds a 12-hour prompt cache to the Responses API, at twice the write price
A new ttl option keeps cached prefixes eligible for discounted reads for at least 12 hours instead of 30 minutes. Writes cost 2.5x the input price, so it only pays off when the same prefix is reused across long gaps.
doubleAI launches Maxwell, a model that rewrites programs' machine code while they run
The Shashua-led lab claims 38x faster data pipelines and 4.5x faster inference kernels, with formal proofs that behavior is unchanged. All figures are its own.
